As every year, since 1998, Chopard is the official partner to The Cannes International Film Festival. In its workshops the legendary Palme d’Or is elaborated, in addition to the rest of the prizes that are awarded in the most glamorous ceremony on the planet.

Palme d’Or Gold is the prestigious award that annually recognizes the best film. It was redesigned in 1998 in Chopard workshops by Caroline Scheufele, an authentic piece of high jewellery. This element is a nod to the palm trees that surround the famous Croisette, the boulevard where the festival takes place and the coat of arms of Cannes. The palm is made with 118 grams of ethical yellow gold of 18 carats that rests on an emerald-cut diamond shaped crystal creating a unique element. Its design has a termination at the base of the branch in the shape of a heart, a tribute that the designer made to this brand.

Chopard has been demonstrating its commitment for years as part of the “Responsible Jewellery Council” (RJC), an organization that certifies ethical, social and environmental compliance. So this company receives its material from suppliers that justify their responsible practices. This award carries the “Fairmined” certificate, guaranteeing Chopard’s commitment to responsible and sustainable luxury.
